A Path to Joy...

Where is your joy on a scale of 1 to 10?

Often we forget how essential the vibration of joy and fun is in our lives how it adds to our quality of life and well-being. Life gets serious, and there are things to attend to. Yet, life quickly becomes lackluster, monotonous, or even gloomy without fun and joy.

Rediscovering our joy is easy when we are having fun. A surefire way to increase happiness is to get out of our environment and travel.

"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." – Mark Twain

When we travel, we leave our localized habits behind. It allows us to engage parts of our brain that remain dormant in our regular routine. New environments cause the brain to process tons of information related to sights, scenery, sounds, flavors, fragrances, and experiences. Travel is great for our brains and can also bring clarity and sharpness.

It gives us a chance to try new things in a new environment, meet new people, eat different foods and engage in new activities. New perspectives and experiences can renew inspiration, appreciation of life, and interconnection between all peoples. Often a return home brings a fresh appreciation of your own home. You may even decide to change things in your home; add new colors or art inspired by your travels.

"Traveling is one of the easiest ways to become aware of the magic that weaves all of creation together through serendipity and synchronicity with perfect timing." – Adam Siddiq.

Travel often involves lots of outdoor time. Spending time in the sun assists your body in creating vitamin D, which helps boost the immune system, increase heart health bone health, support lung function and oxygenation. In addition, vitamin D helps produce more of the right hormones, which helps increase energy. A Finnish study showed spending 15 minutes sitting in nature helped people feel psychologically restored.

Additionally, participants who walked in nature instead of sitting showed elevated benefits and results.

Whether it's a road trip somewhere not too far away or a plane ride to an exotic location. Travel is a beautiful way to revitalize joy and connect you with your sense of wonder, curiosity, and excitement.
